Can your tongue be too short to peirce?

-i really want to get my tongue peirced,but im worried its too short, that weird thin peice of skin under your tongue that like attaches your tongue to the bottom of your mouth is almost at like the end of my tongue ? is it possible i wont be able to peirce it? Thanks
