Do you think I should let him get a tattoo?

-Should i let my hubby get a tattoo? XD take the question seriously please, the only thing that kind of holding me back from saying yes is my christian religion, and...why would i want a big ink print on my husband?! ...what you think?I am probably in a good spot to answer this. I am a Christian. Getting a tattoo is NOT against our belief. It is the reason behind getting the tattoo. Most people quote Leviticus saying that it says tattoos are wrong. That was speaking to the new believers who were used to doing things to mark their bodies like their "idols"

I am 51 years old and have been married for almost 27 years. I have been wanting to get a tattoo for some time now and finally had it designed and thought out. My wife did have to ok the design and the placement.

I took a number of months figuring out what I wanted and then I discussed it with the artist and my wife.

After all that, I made the appointment which I had to wait for 6 weeks for. Which gave me more time to think about it and make sure the design was what I wanted. My tattoo is 1 week old as of today.

She likes the design and the placement. It is on the side of my calf.

That being said, it is his body, but he does have to take into consideration how you feel about it. When you got married you did become "one"Wow, I thought you were going to be talking about your kid not your husband.

It's his body, he was born with it, not you, so he can decide what to do with it. The bible does say not to defile your body with ink, but it also says not to trim your beard. It depends on how literally he takes the bible. There are a lot of Christians with tattoos. If your husband wants this 'big ink print' and it's meaningful and important to him, you should encourage him.
Say did you know at one time Christians got tattoos to identify them selves as Christians? The saying "treat you body like a temple" does not specifically refer to tattooing. I have seen many MANY Christian marking themselves with crosses, images of the Virgin Mary and Jesus. Putting religion aside I do also believe that when you are married people do have a say about some of the things that their spouse is doing such as getting tattoos. It is about respect. I told my wife what I wanted to get tattooed and asked if she minded and she would do the same for me. She did not mind at all. But the most important thing to understand is that the old stigma of tattoos really does not exist anymore. All kinds of people from all walks of life are getting tattoos these days. The designs that they can do today are beautiful to say the least. Don't be surprised if you want one someday. My own mother once was one of those people that had that old negative stigma about tattoos, she now has two tattoos herself.
Should you LET him?

Wow, sounds like a pretty ace marriage you've got there. Poor guy.

Yeah, you should let him if he wants one. He should be able to do whatever he wants with his body and you should stop being a crazy controlling person.

The one spot in the bible that it says "no tattoos" is also the same spot that it says no cutting your hair, no wearing cotton polyester blends, no associating with women on their periods, and many more absolutely ridiculous rules that you and your husband break regularly.
It's his body, NOT yours...it is not your place to "let him" get it or not.

And in the part of the bible where it says not to get tattoos it also says not to make holes in your body or trim your beard...so unless your hubby has a full beard and you do not have earrings, the tattoo should not be an issue.
Revolations 19:16... Jesus has a tattoo, or will at least... It says king of kings and lord of lords on his thigh...

Also in the old testimat it say "the Lord says DO NOT TATTOO" but Jesus came to change all of that!

I am a Christian and have two tattoos... my first was the word love and i still don't understand all of its meaning in my life because it kinda also represents the love Jesus has for me... My second which is still in progress in fire crawling up my chest based off the verse hebrews 12/29 for our god is also a consuming fire... really if it bothers you let him know, in Christ there are many freedoms granted to his people

Also i could be an expirence for you both... something small is no biggy, you may not even notice it... my girlfriend doesn't like tattoos but she also accepts that i am not getting something stupid and recognises it is my body... i wouldn't pressure her into it cause it is my thing... heck i even want to continue the fire half chest as a sleeve on my leg... i couldn't think of a better way to show that i want God's fire to consume my life... she understands it...
I'm a Christian and I have a cross tattoo on my foot. It says in the Bible to treat your body as a temple. Well I'm using my temple to worship my God. I believe it should be his choice because it's his temple. Not to mention if you say he can't he might end up resenting you for it. When in doubt pray for the answer! :)
First, your hubby choose if we want a tattoo...It's not your choice. It's his body.

Second, where the Bible said that tattoos are wrong? It's only draw on skin. Excepted if he wants a tattoo with the devils or this kind of stuff...
My ex tried to tell me I couldn't get a tattoo.

My EX.

As in I broke up with her.

Please don't try and control what he does. How would you feel if he told you you couldn't have your ears pierced?
I know it might seem silly to most people, but if your belief is whats holding you back maybe you could talk with a pastor or someone at church? You'd be surprised at how many genuinely good Christians I've seen with tattoos. Just make sure he doesn't get anything...you know....devilish :X
In the Bible it does say not to get tattoos buti know plenty of good religous people that have tattoos it all depends what it is how big it is and where hes getting it.. you probly should have mentioned all that
I think that you're a really shallow and ignorant human being and that he's going to regret marrying you in a few years.
**** god believe in yourself.

Plus tattoos are badass stop being so controlling.
