Does emla cream really work?

-Im terrified of shots, I dont remember the last time I got a shot and im not all up to date on my shots, I have the worst fear of them to the point where I will passout if I see one. My doctor said I didnt need it but im going to be getting a new doctor and I want to no if EMLA cream actally does work?Yes Emla cream does work but you may have to have it prescribed before it can be used on you. It needs to go on approx 20 - 30 mins before you have blood taken and the phlebotomist/nurse will apply it for you. I assume it will also work when you have injections as well but be aware liquid is going in and this can hurt, especially if it's penicillin which is thick and gloopy , emla numbs the area outside not inside the arm.
