Positives and Negatives on a tongue piercing?

-I want to get my tongue pierced but I wanna know whats bad about it and what is also good about it so I am ready for when I have it done, I know what I have to do to take care of it but I wanna know the good and bad things about having your tongue pierced!I just got mine done about a week ago.



Cons: some people play with them too much and chip their teeth/wear away their gums. It's hard to eat for the first few days, I resorted to ice cream and juice. It swells up pretty big, almost feels like it won't fit in your mouth. The long bar they use at first gets in the way of talking, eating, and even closing your mouth. After the first few days it can "ooze" a bit out of the top or bottom hole, so keep qtips handy.



Pros: It looks cool, the healing process is pretty fast, one of the less painful piercings you can get (my belly was worse!), and most of the pain and soreness from it can go away with ibuprofen or something similar.



Just rinse your mouth out after you eat, smoke, or kiss someone. But also be careful not to do it too much because then you kill all the good bacteria as well as the bad. My piercer told me no more than about 5 times a day. It's been 5 days that I've had, and after the initial 2-3 days it's nothing. Now I can't wait to change it into something smaller and cute!I personally think all piercings look trashy, but you're the one that has to live with it. I think you should just do research on the place your going to to make sure it's registered and ask about how sterile there materials are. I think since your the one who's going to live the rest of her life with something in her tongue, you yourself should make a list of pros and cons of getting one, and then decide.
Well I know that when u first get it for about a week or so u can't talk rly well Hahah like hold ur tongue and try to talk.. That's how it'll sound hahahahha!! So make sure u don't have like interviews or something important. Also if u have an infection.. Well that'll suck :/

you should get it!
Could stunt your talking / taste, can give off the wrong look, might get infected, pretty painful, might feel odd in your mouth or scratch it, and many more negatives..
positive- none

negative- makes people look trashy
