How to turn your entire mouth black?

-For a custom costume, the character has a black mouth, including gums, teeth, and tongue. I was wondering if there was anything safe that can temporarily turn your mouth black, maybe something you can eat? Or something you can brush out later. I know that there a lot of foods that stain your mouth other colors, it's hard to believe that there isn't something out there that can stain your mouth a dark greyish color.
